Hello Everyone,

Here we are with another change of season upon us. I love change but wish it didn't have to mean time passing so quickly. When time flies it's supposed to mean we've been having fun; so I hope that has held true for you this summer.

Things frequently slow down during summer months which has meant that more people have had the time and inclination to join us on Thursday mornings at Coffee 'n DoKnits. We welcomed Wanda, Kathy and Nora. Terri is still working Thursday morning shifts and sends a message that she misses everyone.

The feeling is mutual.

Sally, one of our newer members and a "novice" knitter is the first to complete a prayer shawl as part of our new ministry project. I think we can change the novice description to "old pro"as she did a beautiful shawl that begins our stash of shawls to have on hand here at H.E. for those who might be comforted by one.

The Prayer Shawl Ministry project, which just began at the beginning of August, has caught fire in the H.E. Community. We have 38 shawls underway! A few are being made by people who were visiting or heard about our project and wanted to participate long distance and, hopefully, spark growth of this project in their own community! Nora has completed a shawl for the "stash" and donated one from her niece Pam, too! Others are being done with specific recipients in mind. Don't forget to attach the blessing tag to your finished shawl. If you need additional tags, ask me. Thank you to everyone who is so enthusiastically participating in this new endeavor here at Holy Eucharist. On Thursday mornings when we gather, our first hour has been devoted to quietly working on these shawls together. Knowing that there are so many beyond our group working on shawls in their own quiet moments reminds us that with each small stitch we are connected to a greater creation!

This past weekend Coffee 'n DoKnits had a table at our Holy Eucharist Stewardship fair. Thank you to Leona, Bobbi and Michelle for representing us at each of the Masses. I created the graphic at the beginning of this letter to identify us on the information we made available inviting others to be a part of our group. Hope you like it!

Gingi forwarded info about a fun event happening Thursday, Sept. 18 thru Sunday, Sept. 21st.

Yep!, that's this weekend!

Check out the PENINSULA TO PIER YARN SHOP HOP 2008 at:

Sounds like lots of fun for a group to carpool and do together!

I also received an email from www.knittinguniverse.com

the people who put on our FAVORITE annual ROAD TRIP.

STITCHES West 2009

February 26-1, 2009

Santa Clara Convention Center

Evidently, for those of us who make this annual trek to Santa Clara to wallow in all things fiber, the mailed brochure for the 2009 (yes, that's as in 2009) is going to be delayed. So they sent a heads-up that online registration for the classes offered opens TODAY! They always sell out immediately, so if you have any interest in a class go to:

www.knittinguniverse.com

I will have a printed list of class offerings at our gathering this Thursday.

We'd better circle the dates and start saving our money for yarn (and margaritas!)

When you have time, drop by Coffee 'n DoKnits any Thursday morning between 9:45 and 11:45 Shelter Rm. 5, and for those who are unable to be there; remember you are with us in knitted spirit!

Just doin' knittin',

Tess
