Pastoral Council Meeting Minutes

Vince Hurley called the meeting to order at 7:35 pm.
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as corrected
Parish Plan Review:
The Community Plan was revised.
Faith Formation:
• RCIA
• There are three adults who will participate in the
Rite of Acceptance on Saturday, April 21
We thank Vic and Gloria Suarez and their team for all of their
“behind the scenes” efforts
• Religious Education
• 2007 Confirmation May 19 at the 5:00pm Mass with Bishop Garcia
35 Students will be confirmed.
• There are 34 Students in the 2008 Confirmation Class
• 1 st Eucharist- May 5 & 6 , 24 children
• Via Paraiso
• Pat Golditch, Cindy Engebretsen and Sr. Amparo prepare children for sacraments
• 21 students are in the program, 4 will receive 1 st Eucharist
Events:
• 7 th Annual Shamrock Shindig- Sunday March 16, 2008
• New dance group has been booked for entertainment
• Parish BBQ-Sunday, June 3
• Parish Picnic Day-May 12
• Camp St. Francis, Seascape
• Mother's Day Theme
• Wine Tasting and Auction-Sunday, September 23
• The first planning meeting will be Thursday, May 17 at 7:00 pm in the Library.
Parish Needs List
• ADA Bathroom
• Still getting bids
• Bell Tower
• We have received plans from Gertner
• The estimated cost is $15,000-$30,000
• The plan is to have a 7 ft. base in the flower bed to the right of the entry arch.
• The tower will be coated steel, bolted not welded

• Ali found a website that sells signs and can be designed as we wish
• Bob brought in pictures of signs from local churches in Watsonville .
• Further discussion is needed before a decision can be made
• Girl Scouts
• It was approved that Ali's Girl Scout troop will meet in the classrooms as long as it met the
Diocesan guidelines.
• Drawing
• The Musicians are having a drawing for an electric guitar to raise funds for an organ dolly.
• Vern Silva has planned a presentation at the Masses the weekend of April 28 & 29
• Donation is $20.00 per ticket
