Pastoral Council Meeting Minutes
November 19, 2008
7:30 PM in the Parish Library

The meeting was called to order by President Pat Golditch at 7:35 PM

Minutes Approval: The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as written.
Fr. Joe Grimaldi –
- Fr. Joe spoke to the purchaser at Dominican Hospital to get a price for a defibrillator for a nonprofit organization. The defibrillator needs to be one that can be used by non-medical persons.
- Spanish Mass will start in January and be held on Saturdays at 7:00 pm. Fr. Joe will form a committee to plan, implement and advertise the Mass. The target area is Freedom Blvd. from Corralitos Road to the Monument.
- The Girl Scouts invited Fr. Joe to their Thanksgiving Dinner and he was very impressed with the planning, decorations and of the course the meal.
- The CPR class was very well received by everyone who attended. The next class will be in January.
- There will be an Advent retreat facilitated by Bishop Sylvester Ryan on Thursday and Friday, December 11 &12. There will be a Parish Potluck on Thursday evening. You can attend one or both sessions.
Parish Council –
- A retreat day in March will be planned for the Council. The Council will review the mission statement and discuss how to carry out this statement. 2 or 3 people will be asked to do the planning. (Pat Golditch, Andy Anderson, Tony Cadiente)
- A Facilities Committee will be formed to work on updating the master plan and make recommendations for repair, upkeep and new construction of our facility. They will meet in January. Some of the members will be Paul Vitali, Bob Erbe, Donna Ramos, Sharon Hordness, and Bruce Burnett. They will also discuss the possibility of a columbarium being installed here at Holy Eucharist.
- A nomination committee for the election of Pastoral Council members will be formed. Vince Hurley, Tim Walsh, Amanda Meyers volunteered. The by-laws will be reviewed to find out who on the council has served their full term. Terms should be staggered.
- Matthew Catalano has been appointed to serve on the Parish Council as the youth representative.
- Spaghetti Dinner and 5 year plan will be on January agenda. A committee formed of Amanda Meyers, Pat Golditch, and Gary Smith will look at plan and make presentation .
Parish Needs List
- The Bell Tower will be completed by Christmas.
- Patio Tables will be ordered in January.
- Storage- containers are being organized and cleaned out to maximize storage space.
Events
- Parish Play-rehearsals are taking place and everything is on schedule.
- Shamrock Shindig will be Sunday, March 8 at 3:00 pm
- Dinner Dance-John and Ann McSweeney are the coordinators
- Ice Cream Social-to be held on a Sunday afternoon. Amanda Meyers and Fr. Joe will talk to families about a date for the event.
- Need a fundraiser in January to balance budget. Italian Night, Potluck/Dime a Dip, Mardi Gras were some of the suggestions.

- Evacuation plans have been posted in all classrooms
- Playground Sandbox is being cleaned.
