Pastoral Council Meeting Minutes
March 18,2009
7:30 PM in the Parish Library
Members present: Andy Anderson, Tony Cadiente, Ali Dwyer, Bob Erbe, Pat Golditch, Fr. Joseph Grimaldi, Tom House, Vince Hurley, Amanda Meyers, Paul Vitali, Tim Walsh

The meeting was called to order by President Pat Golditch at 7:35 PM

Minutes Approval: The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as written.
5 year Plan Reports
Communication: Tom House
- Transparency
- Most items are being done on a regular basis
- Announcement in bulletin that “approved” Pastoral Council minutes are available in the office one week after the meeting.
- Welcome to Holy Eucharist
- Welcome to Holy Eucharist postcard will be updated and sent to all newly registered families.
3. Parish Spaghetti Dinner
- Change time line to Annually
- Scheduled for 10/25/2009
- Improve Marketing and P. R.
- All community wide events will be publicized in the newspaper
- Sign at entrance needs to be updated with Spanish Mass. This will be given to the Facilities Committee
- Update Diocesan website with changes and add Spanish Mass
- Follow up with families who have their children Baptized.
- Include 1st Communion and Confirmation families in the invitation to the Parish BBQ.
- Memorial donation envelope
- Ask Print Smith to produce envelope
Faith Formation –Amanda Meyers
Amanda will email Susan Mahan’s report to the council and it will be added to the minutes.
- During lent there is a series of talks after the Wednesday 6:30 pm Mass and Soup Supper. Fr. Joe’s talk was very well attended.
- Susan Mahan has a group of 13 children in her RCIA for children class. They are children over the age of 7 who have either not been baptized or haven’t received their 1st communion. Ideally they will receive all three sacraments after completion of their training.
- We would like to have the children sign up for ministries at the Stewardship Fair and be part of the Liturgy either as altar servers or greeters
- We need a definition of Youth Mass and Children’s mass.
- Wise Achers is sponsoring a retreat with Fr. Cyprian Consiglio on April 4 from 2:30-4:30 pm followed by Mass and dinner.
Facilities Committee
- Facilities Committee would like to make a presentation at the Parish Planning Spaghetti Dinner.
- There has been discussion about the Columbarium and where is should be placed.
- The Master Plan needs to be completed and approved and the goal is to have this done to present to the Parish on October 25.
- Kitchen was inspected and there are a total of 28 items that need to be addressed. Some of the improvements can be done by volunteers and hopefully we will raise enough money with the BAMA and private donations to finance the rest.
- Today Fr. Joe, Jose and Lety conducted a facility safety inspection required by the diocese.
BAMA
- To date 55 families have donated $15,185.00
- The goal is 100% participation, if you can only give $5.00 that is fine.
Parish Council
- Pastoral Council retreat is September 26
- Council Elections
Election announcements will be in April with nominations on May 3 & 10
Elections will be June 6 & 7.
Events
- Shamrock Shindig made over $6000.00. It will be held every other year. The next date will be 2011.
- There was discussion about having a Mexican Fiesta
- The date for the Ice Cream Social needs to be changed
- The Dinner Dance on May 8 will be Hawaiian themed. Ann McSweeney has hired a 7 piece band for entertainment.
- December 13 is the date for an Around the World food and craft event.
- A Christmas boutique is also being planned for November 22.
The next meeting will be Wednesday, April 15, 2009
