Pastoral Council Meeting Minutes
April 22, 2009
7:30 PM in the Parish Library
Members present: Andy Anderson, Matt Catalano, Ali Dwyer, Bob Erbe, Pat Golditch, Fr. Joseph Grimaldi, Vince Hurley, Amanda Meyers, Paul Vitali
Members absent: Tony Cadiente, Tom House, Margaret Kristich, Tim Walsh

The meeting was called to order by President Pat Golditch at 7:35 PM

Minutes Approval: The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as written.
5 year Plan Reports
Liturgical: Ali Dwyer
- All items have been completed or are on-going
- The brochure containing information about the symbols within the church needs to be completed. This will be a summer project
- Mary McConnell added current dates to the plan.
Youth: Pat Golditch
- Report will be added to minutes.
- There was discussion about having a Life Teen Mass
- Matt suggested that Sunday night is better for teenagers for a Mass
- Mike Marheineke might be interested in providing the music for a teen Mass
3. There was also discussion about combining with other parishes for confirmation and Youth Group.
- Patrick Mooney, the diocesan Youth Coordinator, is no longer working at the diocese.
- Fr. Joe will call to investigate getting a Seminarian for our Youth Minister.
- Another suggestion was to have a few parishioners sponsor a Youth Minister.
Fr. Joe
- Fire Inspector was here to inspect kitchen. We are waiting to see what changes will be made to the kitchen before we put in a new fire system.
- PG&E will trim the redwood trees away from the power lines at the entrance of church.
- Easter celebration was fantastic. The individuals who participated in the Passion Play were excellent. Everyone was very moved.
- A booklet is being produced of ministries offered here at Holy Eucharist.
- The photography for the Pictorial Directory went very well.
- Spanish Mass
- Each week someone is needed to do the homily.
- There are 3 quinceaneras and 3 weddings scheduled.
- We need to be sensitive to the feelings of people from other cultures
- Fr. Joe would like the Spanish Mass to be responsible for planning and
implementing a Fiesta.
Facilities Committee
- Facilities Committee will meet monthly.
- A facilities survey questionnaire is being produced and will be presented to the Parish to solicit ideas and opinions to assist in developing a master plan.
- The document “ What is the Facilities Committee doing?” will be used to explain the role and goals of the Facilities Committee
- Some members of the committee will meet with two people experienced in kitchen design to get recommendations for our kitchen update.
- Today Fr. Joe, Jose and Lety conducted a facility safety inspection required by the diocese.
BAMA
- Fr. Joe will give an update each weekend as to how many households and pledges were received.
- 91 families have donated $24,000.00.
Parish Council
- Constitution was approved with a minor change of the word confirmed as it has two meanings.
- Council Elections
Nominations will take place the next two weekends.
Elections will be June 6 & 7.
Events
- Dinner Dance-Friday, May 8
- Parish BBQ-Sunday, June 14
- Wine Tasting and Auction, Sunday, September 20
First Meeting, April 28
AOB
- A photographer/historian will be appointed to take pictures and or coordinate other photographers in the parish so all of our events will be covered.
- The Stewardship Fair is May 16 & 17.

- Creation of safety/emergency procedures “flip chart” as resource (Richard Salazar)

- Put announcement about minutes in the bulletin (Pat Thwing)
- Update postcard and send to newly registered families (Ali Dwyer and Pat Thwing)
